"After trying a dizzying array of other drivers for my CT4780

this one installed and ran painlessly on my aging Pentium 266 Mhz

machine running W98SE. Don't forget that you will need amplified

speakers with this board as the output levels are quite low.

If you are upgrading from an AWE 64 for instance remember that

there is a separate control for speaker volume on the mixer panel

in the AudioHQ as well as on the MS mixer panel, they are not

linked so if you have no output check both before panicking!

The soundfont control is very easy to use and stable.

"CT4870 card. Apart from AudioHQ which refuses to open, this is working with my card, giving mixer,launcher, diagnostics, speaker setup, and effects. Addtnl info from Creative on this card "card is an OEM card that was manufactured for HP and NEC exclusively. Hardwarewise it should be pretty much identical to the 4830 -feature connector excepted. Using Windows 98 SE your best bet would be to get the Audigy and Live! Update CD, which can replace the original installation CD completely and has drivers for 98SE, ME, 2000 and XP, as well as the same software that came with the Retail version. "I tried to install this dvr on an Asus/PII/533Mhz/98SE op sys for a CT4670. The self extract split the files between \program files and windows\temp\several-directories. It ended with a small INFO! window that removes one of the directories in the \temp when you click on OK. Nothing else happened, no directions, etc. Played with the setup files in the various directories and got the drivers and SB live to load, but my card(ct4670) has good record but no audio out to the speakers in any function."

"I have windows 98 se. mabey its my os, but this driver seems like it was ripped off the cd, becasue I recieved "out of memory errow" which is usualy ro problme(read only)

I am sorry but this guy tried to rip a driver(s) off his installation cd (bless his heart) but you need to make sure you know what your doing, mabey like compressing the setup or driver files. There are other better drivers here that i have used and work well.

"Installed (4) of the PCI SB4780 Live! Value cards (Dell model I think) using this driver package and ALL work fine and the installation was very straightforward in Windows '98SE. All are working now as I type this (been a month since install) in lower-powered LAN rigs I have here at my house for buddies to play Halo, Unreal Tourny, Quake 3, and TFC on. All have EAX support enabled and the driver is supporting all features fine. So I can say it works for the 4780's!!!"
