"The driver worked well. The sound device sometimes becomes uninstalled. This may be due to the age of the motherboard that it resides on. It's an older socket A and I'm not even sure of the brand. It doesn't bare any distinguishing markings or brand names. The only way I knew which driver to download was making the observation of what chips were on the board itself. I guess that's what I get for accepting freebies..."

"I have the K7S5A and one day...pouf! the darn sound goes out.

What.. is going on here? Blow out the driver re-install, nothing. Dig through piles of computer parts and cd's fin the MB cd throw it in the drive, install the driver from cd.

AAH the sound of silence!! Hmmm, try looking at the ECS web site for a new driver, nithing new, try theres anyway, nothing. Search high and low for an answer...none.

Then one day I stumble upon good ol' realtekAC97.

Well, what is this I ask myself, I'm looking for C-Media '97.

Download anyway and give it a shot. Awesome. It worked tremendously, I have had to re-install it twice tho...

But I have sound and it may just sound a little better too.

AFTER ALL, I JUST PAID A TECH $185.00 TO DO SOME WORK ON MY COMPUTER AND I WAS NOT ABOUT TO ASK HIM TO COME BACK OUT TO MY HOUSE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. WHEN I RE-BOOTED AND HEARD THE COMPUTER LOG ON SOUND IT WAS MUSIC TO MY EARS."
