"I installed a Promise eSata300 TX2 and the internet wisdom suggested that Windows XP doesn't need a driver for it. But my Windows XP wouldn't install it, demanded but couldn't find a suitable driver.

I downloaded this driver, installed it without problem, and the Mass Storage Controller appeared immediately, quickly followed by the drive attached.
