Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install the Windows XP dock driver for the Gateway notebook computers listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below.

Identification

If you have a Gateway notebook computer l

Installation

After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file (PL-2303), files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\PL-2303 folder on the hard drive.

1. From the Start menu, click Run.

2. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\PL-2303\PL-2303 Driver Installer.exe. Click OK.

3. At the Welcome to the InstallShield(r) Wizard for USB-to-Serial screen, click Next.

4. At the InstallShield(r) Complete screen, click Finish.

5. Installation is complete, and the installer automatically closes.

Removal

1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

2. In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.

3. In the Add or Remove Programs window, select PL-2303 USB-to-Serial, and then click Change/Remove.

4. Click to select Yes, I want to restart my computer now, and then click Finish.

5. Removal is complete.

Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.

This driver allows for the use of the serial port on the M250 or M280 port replicator.
