"Look at the label on your cd rom drive. If it has this model number on it and is made by LG, use this driver. Windows 98 doesn't seem to detect it automatically. Click on the downloaded file and it will unzip into the directory it is in. Then clik on "install" and reboot. Windows should recognize it now."

"My CD-ROM player Goldstar CRD-8240B is unable to read some CDs (Kodak Picture CD), but casn stille read and make working most of other CDs since I cleaned up (too much, I guess!) files on my HD. I was told by Kodak to download the CRD-8240B Drivers again. I did, but it seems it didn't work because the situation is identical. Can anyone help me? Thank you. J-F"

"Worked like a champ!! Can't even tell you how much time I wasted prior to finding this site. FYI for everyone who had a problem after you download the file you have to run it which extracts all the compressed files. You then have to run the install.exe file and reboot the PC. Hope this helps. This site ROCKS!!!"
