"First of all thanks driverguide for your site. After 2 days of frustration and much prayer... After trying everyone's advice separately to no avail, I used David Williams advice but then used Caroline Reuter's advice together. IT WORKED!!!! You have to remove the lines from config.sys and autoexec.bat that you placed there from David's plan AFTER installation. By the way I found my I/O # at 340. Thanks everyone!"

"This is so confusing. I've tried several versions of this driver, but none of them work. The readme file is obviously written by someone that is new to speaking English it provides inadequte install instructions. It doesn't clearly define all of the command-line parameters that can be passed to the .sys or msdx.exe. If someone ever gets it to work, write a text file. I'll upload it to an Angelfire or Geocites account, then post a link."

"It worked. I ran the 56x_dos.exe file after copying it to my hard drive. The first thing I tried did not work--copying the .sys file to config.sys and manipulating autoexec.bat accordingly, using the help.exe command in MS-DOS (this has worked for me several times with other CD-ROM drives, so it can work). I then tried running the install program and choosing option #3, following Caroline Reuter's advice, but after reaching 340 and not hitting the I/O, I tried option #1, Sound Blaster Pro, which found the address at 220. But it would not complete installation unless I ran the install program from a drive other than the destination drive (so I used my floppy drive to install on my hard drive). The program altered my config.sys and autoexec.bat files correctly, and my CD-ROM drive worked when I rebooted. Finally!"

"I got my cdrom cr563b to work. I used 56x_dos.exe. when you type install pick option #3. You have to find the correct cdrom drive #. Start typing in numbers from 300 to 690 example 310, 320, 330, 340 until you get the right one. This driver will install when you find the correct cdrom drive number.My drive number was found at 320. Also the cdrom interface was connected to a nxpro16 sound card. I didn't have any luck with 4.22 driver either. I got this information from a creative tech about a year ago. He knew what he was talking about from experience and gave me the answer to cr563b installing problem right away. I must say that he was excited about it too. And so was I. 56x_dos.exe really works."

"I've had no sucess installing three versions of this driver. I did save all files in the magics20 directory but cannot run it's setup utility. Keeps telling me invalid windows directory. Another version of the driver install looks for the sound blaster card, but cannot find it. I dont know why.
