 "Didn't recognize the driver as a proper one when installing it manually,
using the setup gives an error message and stop the install process.
The computer is a COMPAQ 5000 series, runing W2000 SP2 and the ESS 1989S
is clearly visible on the motherboard as a sound chipset.
So, I Don't recommend it, at least for the COMPAQ 5000 series." |

"I got the "Audio Installation False" message when running the Setup utility. I deleted my multimedia system and rebooted. When Win 2K discovered new HW I pointed it to the .inf file for the new driver and it installed and WORKED!"

The 1062 Driver yields "Audio Installation False".
The 1065 driver doesn't exist.
