"The card I had was a Diamond Multimedia card and it wanted it to work as a second monitor. However, the monitor did not talk to the card and the PC kept freezing.

The problem may lay in the monitor and/or in my lack of knowledge in setting up a second monitor. Will try another video card that I have laying around."
