"A special case. This laptop cdrom-unit is to be changed for the diskette-unit. Old stuff, indeed, but funny to try to make it work.

It took me a sunday with Windows95 diskettes to install Windows95 and then to install cd-drivers from this UMDJ-driver. But now it works, changing units when the laptop is shut off."

"i used this driver on virtually all flavours of win on fat32, never fail and pick up any cd/dvd in any combination, i think this is best driver for fat16/fat32 windows ever! extremelly stabile and easy to install. do not forget to copy to same directory (i am using c: - root directory) your mscdex.exe file, work as well with any flavour of dos. just add line in your config.sys: device=vide-cdd.sys /d:msd001 and then in your autoexec.bat line: mscdex.exe /d:mscd001 and that will solve all your cd/dvd problems!"

"I have the driver,but don't have it installed correctly. I am using a gateway solo 2000 p3c.Can someone copy their config.sys,and autoexec.bat files and post them,or email it to me so I can get my cdrom drive working? I would really appreciate it!"

"Worked great with an old Gateway Solo P3C laptop cd-rom as well. It was very tricky to use as this machine's BIOS did not supply the option of using the CD-ROM as the boot drive. The driver must be loaded throught the config.sys file and autoexec.bat, just as Mr. Hey pointed out. Once done, though, it works like a charm."

"This was hard to find but,just what I needed for my Compaq LTE 5300 with Win95!!! To install - copied Vide-cdd.sys in to the folder C \AUDIO_CD then changed Config.sys and Autoexec.bat to use this, instead of TEAC_CDI.sys"
