"Once I found a usuable update for the 0275-0001 IBM Flatbed Scanner, v1.06. However, never leaving well alone, I reformatted my WinXP and lost the updaye. It is nowhere to be found. sca95106.exe fills in some of the holes from the original IBM setup disc I kept, but the guy who wrote that XP does not look kindly on 16 bit (original flatbed was for w3.1 and 95) was on the mark. But the V1.06 does beautiful work - when it works!"

"I tried downloading the SCA95106.exe file. It said that it finished, but I cannot find it on my system. I have Windows XP, and it is a brand new computer. I have the original CD for the hardware, and the Pagis SE CD as well. These are installed on my Windows 95 system, which is currently disconnected. I also installed it the scanner CD on my windows 98SE system. However I chose to install a different version of Pagis (Pro 2.0). It works fine on that system. I will try them on my XP system. I hope there is a way for me to update all of you about my findings. However, I will not be able to try this until sometime late next week, since I am going out of town for a few days. "I have the IBM (Xerox) model 0275-001 flatbed color scanner. I have, however, Windows XP on my new computer. This scanner worked great with my old ABS Computer while running Windows 98, but I can not get it to work on my E-Machine Computer (running Windows XP). Is there anything I can install on my new computer (e.g. driver, patch, or whatever) that will allow me to use this flatbed scanner?"

"Have to execute .exe to unpack files, delete old files, then run setup. Works, but not as simple as just clicking and installing. It unpacks to the directory it is present. Might want to use a temp directory."

"when I tried to open or run the self-extracting .exe file, the dos window opened up and saidthat the zip failed and I must use zip fix (which I don't have nor do I know how to use it even if I DID have it.) I will try the download again, in case it had something to do with the way I downloaded the file."

"I installed this driver successfully to WinXP Pro SP1a. So far so good. However, interrupting a scan with other activity on the system causes small glitches in the scan (which is not unusual). I also have a small gripe with the fact that the installer does not allow custom installing. IBM's installer adds in small utilities that are not necessary (in my case). Even worse is tha I'm now noticing that the utility self runs periodically. I'm going to re-install the drivers again without the IBM clutter. I would imagine it should still work just fine. I'll add another comment if I experience otherwise."

"I downloaded the file, extracted it, and it arrived on my desktop with umpteen different files, my computer said it couldn't load the files from the software, or my scanner couldn't be found or was not connected properly, and it can't detect my scanner. Any ideas. I have a Dell Dimension 4600C, Windows XP Home Edition. Any help from anyone would be GREATLY appreciated, otherwise I'll have to just use it on my "OLD" Seanix. Thanks"

"I tried Big Blue for the Driver, and they sent a message back to me. Saying that I am S O L. The scanner is no longer available and off thier list. And no support for it from them. but I was told by another to try one from Primax. If there is one out there,, I am still looking for it for my IBM IdeaScan 2000"

"The 0275-001 does work with XP Pro, using the original IBM driver (available from IBM) as long as you do the following 1. Prepare the LPT port before installing the drivers In the Device Manager (from the windows "Desktop" right click "My computer" - Properties - Hardware - Device Manager - Ports - Printer Port - Port Settings) choose "Never use an interrupt" and "Enable legacy plug and play detection" 2. Reboot your computer. 3. Install the original IBM Drivers 4. Scan Away"

"I just converted from Windows NT to XP Pro (after reformatting my drive). I used this driver with XP, and although the scan button utility seems to be having trouble, once this driver was installed and I opened my image editing software (JASC Pant Shop Pro Version 7) the software found the driver and everything works great. So, to answer the XP question yes and no. I doesn't seem to work on its own with XP, but it may work when used with your software (the only time I use the scanner, anyway)."

"I never did get this to work, but used the instructions below for the SmartKey 9636P, which did work for 275-011 on WinXP. Never did get IBM software Photosuite to connect directly to Preview or Scan buttons, but workaround was to go to Photosuite first, then use File/Acquire/Acquire and it actually did scan. I'll fight with the Help System and Manual (if I can find it) another day -- at least I have a way to get it going."

"This driver is NOT for Windows 2000, it is the same level as the drivers available from IBM for Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT. It may or may not work on your Windows 2000, it works on mine only as LPT1 and configured as EPP. If I then attach a printer to the back of the scanner the printer and scanner fail to work as the software clashes!"
