Supposedly the driver for this oldie is already on WIN98SE and noted on "list" as PB8528SVG....this per a previous post here on Driverguide.

A download of a driver "pac" from PB UK (Brit) site did not include this model in it's legacy list....had a lot of monitors specifically listed but not this one.

I initially got this monitor to work "OK" by turning off Plug and Play in the bios on the old HP Vectra (S3 trio display adaptor)...then it came up. Had multi screen images prior to that.I may have to go back to that and just use a generic driver.

I also found a spec page on this monitor (no driver) using google search. Said it worked best w/S3 adaptor when set at 800 x 600."

"I'm using windows 2000. I read all the other comments below and figured "great, this driver won't work." So I haven't even actually downloaded the driver. I got this monitor for free and wanted to try it out. At first my display was crazy until I set the resolution to 640x480. Eventually I figured out how to get it to 600x800. In windows 2000 I used "add/remove hardware" under the control panel. I selected remove. I removed the default monitor. I then re-ran "add/remove hardware" and selected to add. It searched for hardware to add. Subsequently I was able to change the resolution to 600x800 without it failing."

"Katy, I got your address from driver.com.... I am having trouble finding a Monitor Driver for my Packard Bell 1401s. I found the pbmon.exe & the moviemk.exe but after I read the comments I didn't want to download either one. Everyone stated that the download was missing a dll file. I don't really want to download a file that will not work.... Please get back to me a touch base letting me know your received my e-mail. Thanks for trying Katy. chad"

"Kathy -- got your info from the Priority One Support site. I'm looking for a driver for a PB 1401s monitor. I downloaded the Moviemk.exe file but I get an error when I try to run it (WMMUTIL.DLL not found) -- is there really a 1401s driver in here? (there wasn't one in pbmon.exe) If yes, do you have any idea where I can find the wmmutil.dll file needed to run this?"
