"Well, after 2 attempts and 2hrs on the phone with HP, I decided to uninstall all keyboard drivers, leave keyboard plugged in, and restart machine. My keyboard manager disappeared and I ended up with a device manager that told me that I had a 101/102 Microsoft keyboard. I then reinstalled this driver over the existind default driver and it worked beautifully. The picture of the MMKB is not mine, however all 14 buttons were accounted for. Follow the pic and you can rename, add color and change font. Right click on the task bar icon. The machine it went on is an HP 8770c, 850MHz AMD Athlon, Keyboard is SK-2506 P/N 5184-9648. HP was useless as they did not list a driver for this MMKB. When I typed in the SK-2506, I got a compaq laptop. Netropa would not respond to several emails. This is the best driver that I found to use with Windows 2000 Professional. I even got rid of Windows IE and used Mozilla. Wonderful."

"ohh wait i lied..... after reinstalling the old driver (running setup only) i have everything working. all i can say is holy crapp-oly, could this have been any more annoying (took 7+ reboots and 4 installs of the drivers to make a keyboard work) if yours isn't working try the following install old driver (you probably already have that running) run setup from the new one (whoch you just downloaded) if the volume, mute etc dont work go back to the old driver disk run setup and get it to repair or reinstall (it's the middle option)I did it and it finally worked. note BIOS is controlling the USB keyboard support not OS, never worked at all in OS."

"Installed well, Stable? well, it has worked everytime in 16 restarts. Working with my system? Yes, it works fine, but it is a netropa driver, so it also has a ticker which got installed with the driver. While it is slightly annoying, the use of MANY, NOT ALL of my MM keys absolutely offsets the ticker. You will have to push a few keys to see which is which, and adjust from there, and the shortcut #2 button didn't show up anywhere on my KB. All in all, I rate a 8.5 on a 10. I've missed my Keys! One last note, you can't adjust the color scheme, or time it shows anymore either."

"Might not be the driver as far as the keyboard not working because I haven't fixed it yet. However, the error message "not able to find msmixmgr.dll" started immediately after install. Going to try a different file. I did re-extract the files twice and still got the exact same message upon reboot. It caused the osd to protective fault in osd.exe at 0003:0318. no known fix at this time. The good news is at least the keyboard lights blink 6 seconds or so through boot up which is progress."

"HP's official site has no reference about the sk-2506 keyboard...But you can input the "Pavilion" word in their search engine and it brings on screen a huge list of all their Pavilion models... After choosing a model it brings a list of the drivers refering to all parts that consist this model including keyboard drivers... LOL I got this keyboard stand alone from a friend, so I couldn't chose which model I should check for drivers but maybe some guys of you could check it out..."
