"Great! Got both my CompactFlash to PC Card slot adapter and my PC Card modem to work with my old laptop. Now I can load Windows from my CF card without a harddrive using a DOS boot floppy. There IS an option to install just the components you need, just click on custom install. It won't install to a floppy, but to get around that create a ramdrive, install it to the ramdrive, then copy the files to the floppy, and add the changes to your config.sys file. Voila. Only thing is, it would be nice if the manual for CardSoft3.1 was included here. I had to find it somewhere else."

"For CF: Version 5 drivers are far better although even they do not enter the correct path to your DOS files. Be cautious when editing files using Edit in DOS as it can cause the file to become corrupt when writing back to the CF. That said using a CF in DOS can be usefull at times."

"I had a problem with the driver since I wanted it to install onto a floppy and there were no options to install only part (i.e. for one type of PCMCIA card) before installing it to the hard drive."

"This is a DY-NO-MITE program! It lists nearly every PCMCI hardware manufacturer out there. It was unfortunate that the INSTALL program was smarter than the person who uploaded the program.

The Install proceeded well until a Warning screen appeared informing me that I was using a "...forged copy of the software and not the original OEM disks". It determined this because a specific DISK.ID file was missing. Upon inspection, there WAS a DISK.ID file (for Disk #1)in the ZIP, but only one out of the three the program looks for. Obviously the uploader copied all three disks into one large ZIP file and overwrote the other two DISK.ID files. Instead, they should have ZIPed each disk individually and then compressed the three ZIP files into one master file. I'm trully sorry it didn't work - looks like a GREAT program otherwise."

"To get this to work, you really need to unzip the file to a floppy disk, run a:\install from DOS, and follow the process. Also note that it's only a card manager and you may have to get a PCMCIA driver in addition. The information above says that it's for DOS, but it includes a Windows 3.1 utility called Cardview."

"Thanks! Does anyone here know how to create a Card Library File (*.CLB) for a specific card so that the generic enabler (cardid.exe) will be able to configure the card?"

"I purchase my Dell Latitude 433MC NEW 8 years ago with CardSoft installed. My harddrive went bad and found my Cardsoft disk corrupted. Systemsoft would not give me my rights to this program I purchased from Dell. It was $69 or try Dell (discontinued), a bunch of crooks if you ask me. Thanks Keith!!! )"

"Thanks a gazillion!! I've been searching for almost 19 hours straight for this software! I did go take a break to teach bible study (smile). Maybe that's why I was able to find this. But anyway, I can't tell you how grateful I am to you Keith. It's 4 am and I'm a happy camper. Still had to tweak it a little to get it to work on this Toshiba Portege 7000CT, but it does work. Thanks for your sacrifice."

"You can't find this driver anywhere else on the net. It is a "must have" to use imaging software on notebooks running NT. Not to mention those of us restoring old systems. If you don't have your original disks, Systemsoft will be happy to sell you their "discontimued" drivers for $65 !!! THANK YOU Keith!"

"Thanks, Dos drivers are getting hard to find. I'm trying to Format and reload an OS into a Digital HiNote Ultra II notebook and I couldn't get my Panasonic KXL-D745 4x pcmcia CD to load up on the boot floppy. The instructions on card services say to load the drivers from the Cardsoft directory but it's not there. I think I may have deleted it a few years back to free up some space on the 1.3 Gig HD, not knowing what it was. Again, Thanks JP"
