"I'm runn'en the pb 1401S FCC BEJCP400 in win 98. I chose the PB8528SVG mon. I run a Permedia2 VGA Card 8megs Ram. The monitor works fine and colors r good at 60hz or 100hz. I cannot get res above these figures. I also loaded the glint.drv and enable the dirX accerl for the card. The PB8528svg works fine. To bad I don't have the doe to get a better card. Oh well................."

"Thanks alot Ed! I had been using a generic driver for some time now (since I misplaced or lost the old disk) - and what an improvement! I read some negative comments of some of those who tried downloading the PB driver. To those users - Please read the instructions! When the driver was 1st made it was originally for Windows 3.x. I remember the driver was updated when Windows 95/98 came around. Please note that 1401S is now driver "PB8528SVG" & it should appear in the listing after you execute pbmon.exe. Once PB8528SVG is designated, it should work in 3 modes 640 x 480, 800 x 600, & 1024 x 768."

"PB8528SVG worked but not perfectly. The screen was dark and the horizontal and vertical wouldn't adjust proprerly. Then I went to Display properties/ settings/ advanced/ adjustment and set the refresh rate to 56hz [this brightened the display nicely], then I adjusted the vertical to 56 hz and the horizontal to 35.1 hz at the same location. My 1401S has never worked better. Thanks"

"I too am looking for a driver for a Packard Bell Model 1401S. When you enter the FCC# it comes up as manufactured by LG Electronics. Awhile back I came up with the manufacture as Tatung. I still haven'y come up with anything listing a model 1401S. I anyone gets lucky let me know. I noticed no changes after I installed it. Cant seem to get the resolution bar to slide to a higher resolution in the display settings."

"The driver for the 1401S monitor might be model# PB8528SVG, i specifically read that this monitor supports 1024x768 resolution in interlaced mode and the PB8528SVG driver doesn't support that mode. Packard Bell obviously doesn't care about its older customers. Older customers tend to buy new products from companies that they trust. I will never purchase or suggest another Packard Bell product for the rest of my life. Packard Bell do the whole world a favor and go out of buisness."

"To Chris Download the driver for the Nokia, not the Packard Bell. If you want a driver for the Packard Bell, you'll need to get the video card driver that is in the Packard Bell, not the monitor driver."
