"As an avid computer fixer, i found this driver the hardest to come by. I contacted EMachines for the specs for my 566i and they told me that it was a cs 4281 or something. Turns out it was a 4299 and this driver works for it. Check the chip inside your computer! Thanks very much"

"Worked for my e566i (on-board sound chip). A little bit tricky to get installed though. I HAD to use the setup program, and when setup asked for the win95 disk I had to tell it to look in the driver directory. But with a little bit of coaxing it works great!"

"This driver works on emonster1000. Thanks for supplying this driver,I have search for an intel chipset driver like they say is in the machine. I agree emachines are boat anchors. Never again will I purchase one of these POS'. Thier support is non existant and thier website is a f-----g joke also."

"Unfortunately this driver does not work on my etower766id. After the installation the device manager showed the HW as Crystal WDM Audio Codec without any problem, but under Multimedia Audio no device is selectable. After all the hassel, no sound at all. Guess it's faster to buy a cheap sound card then to find another driver.
The eMachine Restore CD is a joke and
the support a real mess."

"Had to dump ME from my Etower 600cd as it was too unstable. Put on Win 98 SE but couldn't get the sound or modem to work. This driver worked great, pity it's not on the uk support site instead of the rip off phone numbers. Got the Modem driver off the manufacurers site but that is on here too."
