"After trying everything imaginable to update (let alone, locate info on this P.O.S.) for a friend of mine who crashed it "again"... At long last, I have finally been vindicated for those long hours of searching for anything tangible in my quest! My great reward (and it most certainly can be yours, too), and the most beautiful feeling of contentment I have felt in all too long of a time came with the stroke of one (1) "strike anywhere" match and one (1) small can of charcoal lighter, which I found on my first try at the local corner store!!!

And to think that I had actually wasted time on any other form of upgrades on this now beautifully molten remnant of a one-time piece of pseudo-technology!!!

Trust me on this... you will feel TRULY vindicated!! My God, it's freakin' beautiful, man!!!"

"I have a machine I reloaded with Windows 98SE. The BIOS is AMIBIOS ver 1.00.07.CP0R. I installed a USB 2.0 board and also installed an upgrade for the enhanced drivers. Still cannot get the USB ports to work. It was suggested that an upgrade to the BIOS might be in order. Does anyone know if this version is supposed to support USB? If not, what should BIOS ver should I be upgrading to and where would I find it? This system is a Packard Bell, Intel P133 system with 16mb RAM (which I am upgrading to 32mb)"

"Unfortunately, I do not have a "Master Restore Diskette" for this PB model. I recieved a dead machine and was asked to install Win 98SE on it. Win98 and Win98SE did not work with this PC, however, WinME did. I had nothing but a case and the internals to work with, no PB media or documentation. Thanks, Ted"

"The PackardBell DOS executible should make the floppy bootable, but depending on the floppy I use I can end up with a good or bad upgrade floppy. So try a blank disk first. If that doesn't work, then use a DOS bootable floppy for the bios upgrade utility."

"This self-executing ZIP file contains two files, a picture of the motherboard and a PackardBell DOS executible. To use this upgrade, you need to make a new, empty directory on your hard drive. Then extract the files to this new directory. Insert a bootable DOS 3.5" 1.44MB floppy disk into the floppy drive of your PC. Open a command prompt window and execute the AmiBiosUpgrade.EXE file in that new directory. There are instructions to prompt you after that. ---> Special Note"
