"I have a Conexant 1456VQ-R4 modem with a 11242 chipset. In my limited modem speed evaluation, this driver (Win2000.zip) did somewhat poorer than the file 1124211.exe also on this site.
You have to force the driver installation, by the way. Make it list all the devices, choose "modems" and then "have disk" and browse to the drive location and insist that it is OK, despite Windows alarm at its potential unsuitability."
