"I install the driver by clicking 'have disk' but the operating system can not recognised the driver!

I then clicking the driver icon to install the driver, it looked installation was done but no scanner was installed!

I checked and make sure the hardware was connected to the base unit and power was on before installing the driver but no luck.

The reason of downloaded the driver is because the Window XP complained the original driver's digital driver signature error.

"I'm sorry for privies note. It works OK. But it needs the special instruction to install.

Please install in "Custom" mode and choose to install only driver, without Profiles/MagicMatch option.

For WinXP, manually exchange the standard scanner driver (WIA): open the Device Manager, double click on the scanner entry, in the Properties, tab "Driver", click "Update driver" and select "Software from a list...". Select "Do not search...", select the UMAX Driver: "USB Scanner". Ignore (!) the Warning that the driver has no WindowsXP Logo certificate and continue with the installation. Restart WinXP"

"I DOWNLOADED THE UMAX ASTRA 1600U DRIVER AND IT SAYS MY SCANNERR ISNT HOOKED UP BUT IT IS. I HAVE XP SO IT MAY NOT WORK FOR THIS."

"Umax driver for 2100U vs355u.exe again downloaded from Umax site - no error messages on installation this time, but still will not work consistently."

"This driver is also correct for the 2100U scanner but it is giving me problems with XP, even with the XP patch used. The driver on the Umax website is given me a "corrupt" message when I try and install it. Guess I'll try the download again. There is a Umax disc available on the US site priced $15"
