"I was just about ready to toss this old OPTI -929 based soundcard in the trash because could not get this driver to work under Win98. Kept getting "This driver does not match your hardware" message. Then I decided to look in the .INF file for any clues to why it wasnt working. Right at the top of the file under [Version] is the line Signature="$Windows 95$" As a last resort I edited this line to read Signature="$Chicago$" which is the sig line all my other Win98 drivers use. Then when I went to install it again using the procedure in the Readme.W95 file, Wallah!! Works like a champ, all the soundcard settings popped up in the install box like they were supposed to. The card works great now and I saved some $$$ that I can use for upgrading my CPU. If you are using this driver for Win98 try this, it should work for you also. -- Jim Blaschke"

"Yea, it nicked my last two W95 interrupts. Rather old, '96 vintage, driver does not support the menu bar volume control. Any ideas? Otherwise it works okay."
