"I am not saying the driver is bad. It just did not work with the motherboard that I have. The chipset on my motherboard is an AD1819AJST chipset. It is definitely worth a try if you have the 1819 chipset on your board. The drivers for the 1819 chipset are hard to find, so it is worth trying. I did find a driver that worked with mine and it is also on here. It is designed for Yamaha, but works great with my system and WIN98SE.
Installation tip: Instead of running the setup program and it coming back to tell you that the VIA Chip was not found, try doing over the DEVICE MANAGER and see if it matches up there. If it matches there, you should cancel out and run the setup files that came with this driver. If it does not recognize in the DEVICE MANAGER, it is best to leave it alone and try the YAMAHA 1819 driver in this forum."
