This driver says it's for Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Had to look everywhere to find this driver for XP. The instructions are to load the software first with the camera unplugged. The software will have you reboot. Then plug the camera in. It will plug and play at that point, but it will tell you the driver isn't digitally signed or something like that. Just hit ok and it will load up. Enjoy your cam on XP!!

"I had a friend come to my house with this webcam and we had lost the CD-ROM a long time ago, If it wasnt for this website We woulda been so hopeless. This site gets a big 5 star rating of excellence from me and my friends.

You guys should do as they request, please rate, because I trust ratings personally, Without them how can you tell if something is good or bad? I mean come on its common sence. Please rate!"

"I had to remove all the old software first, then install the new software. After that I had to unplug the camera and replug it back in. Then in device manager I had to 'install automatically'. Then it worked fine. BTW This driver has not passed windows logo testing. It will give a warning about it at the install. Click on 'continue anyway'. I will have to adjust the lighting and focus for the camera but otherwise it works GREAT."

"Wow! I can see my girlfriend again! Thank you so much! For future users after installing the driver, the webcam might not work at once. If the driver still doesn't work, go to your device manager, doubleclick on the webcam (that probably will have a yellow ! or ? in front of itself), click 'reinstall driver', choose 'automatic' and click 'continue anyway' if you get a message from the whql driver signing. After that the camera will be properly installed )"

"Unplugged cam and installed new driver and then plugged cam in and still didn't work. So, I rebooted again, and reinstalled original driver software from original CD again which somehow got the correct calls from the new driver patch, and it's apparently working fine now. Am using a Sony Vaio desktop (which is notorious for having lots of undocumented hardware and system bugs) and XP Home."

"It works well. However, I installed the driver because WinXP Pro didn't recognize the camera as an "imaging device." After I installed the driver WinXP Pro still didn't recognize the camera as an "imaging device", so the utility of this driver update for this rather old camera is still pretty limited."
