"I installed this Bios and my computer no longer recogonized my hard drive. I had no problem re-installing windows XP as a clean install, formatting the drive along the way. This traded my eMachines logo with one from HP which can be turned off in the Boot options. Many thanks for this one.

Happy Trails,

Jack"

"Driver worked great, I have a Emachines T1090 with a PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6. Wanted to get rid of the emachines splash screen from the bios, after upgrading, HP logo came up, went into the bios, disabled, no more splash screen, just the diagnostic screen, which is what I wanted.

I recommend this firmware upgrade to anybody using a emachine and wants to get rid of the splash screen.

"I have a cognac motherboard that is from an E-machines tower....and this bios version does not have large disk access in the bios....therefore if you have NTFS O/S you are not foing to get the system to boot. The correct bios version is from HP and is the prior version 3.03.....this has large disk access mode in the bios for NTFS O/S (XP,NT,2000) etc.

I have posted the correct driver....but might not be available for a few days."

"IF you are using an Emachine, after upgrading the BIOS, you MUST go into cmos setup and auto-detect the hard drive. If not, the Bios does not recognize your hard drive and you get a blank screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left hand corner."
