"Finally, at last, the right combination to make this scanner work. After migrating to window 2000, I have spent hours trying to make the umax astra 2000u work. Thanks for posting this driver and thanks for the feedback comments. After installing 3.55, and putting the pv8630.sys in both places (refer to thread), you will be prompted for the 1220u.inf file. Do a search and you will find it. Plus, I had to change the default "tmp" path to scan to a file in vistascan. In vistascan, click on the 3rd icom from the top left and change the path and then everything should work ok. Mine did. And i didn't plug the scanner in until the vistacan program was installed and the pc rebooted."

"Works with windows 2003 server, but I get an error message that a device or service could not be loaded on start-up even though, scanner works OK. Anyways... I removed everything and still got the message...I had to remove some entry's in the registry to get rid of the message."
