"Re PB 1402S Monitor. Samus's post on 6/24/00 said this file doesn't work for 1402, so I won't try it. Carol on 01/27/01 apparently needs the same thing. I bought a new Compaq cpu with WinME. My monitor works, but stuck in 640x480, making some windows really screwed up (was using 800x600 with old PB cpu). Compaq suppport tried to help, but without success. "I have a PB8549SVGL and successfully updated my display capabilities with this driver. Thought I was going to have to spring for a new monitor. I had to make a synchronization adjustment for 800X600 display, in order to get the whole window on the screen. All I needed to do was switch the horizontal from positive to negative. However, it doesn't fill the screen horizontally, but it is adequate. At the higher resolution it fills more of the screen."

"This file has the drivers for PB's new models, basically since they were taken over by NEC. There is another file, same name, with drivers for their old monitors out there somewhere. I had a copy, and lost it some months back. It has the drivers for the PB 8549SVEL I'm using. The PB web site seems to have been pruned. Looks like they may go belly-up. The 8528 driver works for 1024x768 res, but not well at all for 800x600. let me know if you find the old one."

"I gave a pacbel monitor to my mother to use with her notebook. before doing so, I had plugged it into my notebook, and it worked. I had to do nothing else. I sent mother on her way. A week later, mom calls (from her new temp home, out of state), tells me she can't make the monitor work???? I'm stumpped. So.....now that I've found a driver, I'm off to load it to mom's notebook.
