"After extracting USRoboticswizardsetup.exe, the two files DPWave.inf and MdmUSRDP2.inf are exactly the same files that are extracted from the driver for a U.S. Robotics Sportster Model 0484 (661749-81).
The other driver file, Usr_0484.zip has a more current date stamp of 7/28/1999. From extracting USRoboticswizardsetup.exe, the date stamp for the two files are 5/8/1998.
I have installed these drivers by using the Modem Wizard in the Control Panel. Windows 98 1st Ed. recognized the modem as a U.S. Robotics 56K Voice INT on COM 2.
Using this driver, connection speed is usually 49,333 bps and sometimes up to 50,667 bps.
Hint: For identifying U.S. Robotics dialup modems, go to USRs website and download the U.S. Robotics Modem Identification Utility (miu.exe). I installed this on Windows 98_1st
Ed and it displayed the Product ID and Model Number."
