"This device didn't work on my HP. I have a 6645C that had crystal audio on-board that came with it. I first went to the HP website and they gave me a patch. All I wanted to do was update my sound because it was scratchy on some heavy resource eating things I do. But instead when I got the patch for MY SPECIFIC MODEL the sound only worked on system sounds (IE startup and clicking). So I came here, and I thought my problem would be anwsered. But as soon as I installed this wonderful complete cystal audio WDM my whole system did not respond to sound. I could not figure out why either. After all that I had to do a system recovery because I have no idea where my application recovery went for my HP (HP gives you two CDs to back up it's original state). So to make an already long story short, I have to upgrade everything back to where it was and completely remask my system to my preference. I thank you very much for sharing this hard to find device though DarkBladE. But for ANYONE else that might have the following particular specs, do not try to install this driver Windows 98 SE, HP Pavilion 6000 series and earlier."

"i spend 3 hours looking for this driver on hp.com with no luck! thank you so much for posting it! to install just unzip and run setup then reboot when the window ask for driver disc use browse to find file! you have to do it a couple of times then it will work! thanks again!"

"this driver worked great in an emachine. Had to insert the Win 98 CD during installation, then had to enable the device and reboot. After that it was working super good. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS DRIVER!"
