"I had lost (how I have no clue) this driver that seems to be the driver for the windows sound control and icon in the tray, so I put on a search for the driver (after 2 hrs of attempted support from HP). I browsed the threads on this site and was surprised to see I was among oodles of folks who had this same problem>>>>volume control missing from tray and no sound at all<<<<<< I downloaded the driver from here, and placed it in my 'system 32' Folder as instructed, and haven't had a problem since, and my sound is working as if it was never missing."

"I am in college and was doing homework when I realized my sndvol32.exe was preventing me from recording what I needed. It took me 2 hours to find this site and with it a free fix. I did not have the CD with me. Once I found this site it took me 3 mins to register FREE and fix my problem FREE.

Thank You"

"For some strange reason I started experiencing sound problems on my PC. When farting around in control panel I got message that this driver was not installed (was working OK before but it's a PC so....)

Downloaded the driver and bang everything works again. Download was a breeze, install a simple click, couldn't have been easier. Windows XP...go figure"

"After downloading it to my desktop, I realized I didn't know where to put it. Finally dumped it into C:/Windows/System32. Just drag the file into that folder, then access the control panel, sound devices, then adjust the system volume, finally check the box in the first tab to place an icon in the taskbar. Thank you very much!"
