"Using the driver installation GUI, the drivers installed perfectly. However, the DM then duplicated the device, and left the original "unknown device" in place. Removing all of it ("unknown devices" and the CM devices) and manually re-installing (WITHOUT first re-starting) fixed the problem and it's been working perfectly ever since.

"There was an error when I tried to use the exe file.

Eventually I pointed the new hardware installation wizard to the location of the unzipped file. I learned a new trick in that I copied the location of the file into the new hardware browse box and it installed. One dll file had to be skipped."
